البحث الأرشيفي
قامت موانئ باستخدام مجموعة مركز عيسى الثقافي لإجراء بحث أرشيفي في الصحف البحرينية التي نشرت منذ ١٩٧١ حتي يومنا هذا. تم جمع أكثر من ١٣٠٠ مقال عن صناعة الألمنيوم وما يتعلق بها على الصعيد الاجتماعي والسياسي والاقتصادي والبيئي والنمو السكاني والهجرة وقوانين الملكية ومواد البناء واللوائح التنظيمية بالإضافة إلى الخطاب المعماري والحضري خلال تلك الفترة

تبين هذه الصورة العناوين الرئيسية في جريدة الأضواء: "حضرة صاحب العظمة يفتتح إنتاج شركة ألمنيوم البحرين" و"قانون جديد للإيجارات"، العدد يعود إلى عام ١٩٧١

Archival Research
Using the collection of Isa Cultural Centre, Mawane conducted archival research into national newspapers published from 1971 to the present day, compiling more than 1,300 articles concerning the aluminium industry’s socio-political, economic and environmental impact, immigration and population growth, rent and ownership, building materials and regulations as well as architectural and urban discourse.

This spread from AlAdhwa'a newspaper in 1971 features "His Highness Inaugurates Production at Aluminium Bahrain" and "A New Law on Leasing".

المسح الحضري
نظراً لكون صناعة البناء أحد أكثر الصناعات استهلاكاً للألمنيوم، قامت موانئ بمسح حضري للنسيج المعماري في كل من المنامة والجفير لاستعراض تأثير صناعة الألمنيوم في المنطقتين.

هذه الخريطة تبين المباني التي تمت تغطيتها بشكل جزئي أو كلي بالألمنيوم، ويبدو أن الألمنيوم يستخدم غالباً في واجهات المباني التي تكون مخصصة للإيجار سواء كانت ذات طبيعة سكنية أو تجارية، و كأن ذلك يمنحها  مظهر من مظاهر العمارة "الريعية". يمكن ملاحظة ذلك في البيوت التي تسكنها العمالة المهاجرة داخل الحي القديم في العاصمة المنامة، فمن الملاحظ هنا أن المادة يكثر استخدامها في الدور السفلي للمباني التي عادة ما تكون محلات تجارية بينما تبقى الأدوار العلوية من المباني السكنية غير مغطاة. تم استخدام الألمنيوم أيضاً في إعادة تغطية بعض الفنادق والمباني المكتبية القديمة، مثال على ذلك فندق الدبلومات وفندق ذا ريجنسي إنتركونتيننتال.

Urban Surveys
The construction industry is one of the main consumers of aluminum; Mawane conducted a survey to demonstrate the effects of this on the urban fabric of Manama and Juffair.
This map of Manama shows buildings that are partially and fully clad in aluminum. The material appears to be used mostly in the facades of spaces for rent, whether they are transitory residential spaces or commercial spaces, becoming a manifestation of a 'rentier' architecture. Within the old quarter of the capital Manama, that houses the largest migrant workers population, the material is widely used at the plinths of the building that are usually shop fronts whilst the upper part of the building used as homes remains uncovered. The material has also been used in the redressing of existing hotels and office buildings, such as the Diplomat and InterContinental Regency.

المسح الصناعي كان بناء على قائمة مقدمة من الجهاز المركزي للمعلومات تحوي أكثر من ٧٠٠ شركة مسجلة تعمل في قطاع الألمنيوم في البحرين، تم التواصل معها وزيارتها لتوثيق إحداثياتها الجغرافية وعدد المصاريع (كمؤشر للحجم) وأنشطتها (الصب والتوزيع والهندسة والتصنيع والتسويق والخدمات..إلخ). ولوحظ أن العديد من الشركات التي كانت مدرجة رسمياً في القائمة غير نشطة بينما تم اكتشاف شركات جديدة خلال زيارة الشركات المسجلة في نفس المنطقة. تم التقاط صورة لواجهة كل من المحلات التي تم زيارتها.

Industrial Surveys
The industrial mapping was based on a list provided by the Central Informatics Organization consisting of over 700 registered companies involved in the aluminum industry in Bahrain. All establishments were contacted and visited to document their exact geo-location, the number of shutters (as an indicator of size) and their activities (casting, distribution, engineering, extrusion, fabrication, marketing, multiple, rolling, services etc.) Whilst many of the companies officially listed were not active, many others were discovered whilst visiting companies in the same area. A photo was taken of each of the spaces visited.

الدراسة الاقتصادية
قامت الدراسة الاقتصادية على استخراج معلومات لتسليط الضوء على أهمية صناعة الألمنيوم على الصعيدين العالمي والإقليمي، مع مراعاة تسليط الضوء على تأثير هذه الصناعة محلياً في البحرين. تحقق ذلك من خلال تحليل البيانات  المتاحة منذ ١٩٧٠ والتي تتعلق بأسعار المعادن وأسعار الطاقة ومعدل استهلاكها ومنتجات الألمنيوم المختلفة وعمليات الاستيراد والتصدير المتعلقة بالألمنيوم.

Economy Mapping
Information was sourced out to highlight the significance of the aluminium industry on a global and regional level with a specific focus on the impact of the industry in Bahrain. This was achieved by analysing the available data since the 1970s onwards that related to metal prices, energy prices and consumption, various aluminium products, and the import and exports related to the material.
